The consultation phase with beneficiaries of the coastal zone space programme began at the start of the 2025 academic year with the organisation of four videoconference workshops bringing together the programme’s key stakeholders. This crucial stage aims to identify the needs of future users and to discuss the services offered by the consortium.
The first workshops attracted a large number of participants and facilitated fruitful discussions covering all lots of the programme.
- For Lot 1, the workshop on 16 September brought together 41 participants (CNES, the consortium, the support cluster, anchor clients and beneficiaries), with in-depth discussions on coastal morphology products.
- Lot 2 held its first user workshop on 16 September as well, marking a phase of expressing interest and gathering requirements relating to sea states from anchor clients.
- Lot 3 held its workshop on 18 September with 19 participants from institutions, anchor clients and beneficiaries, facilitating lively discussions on services related to ecosystem monitoring.
- Finally, Lot 4 launched its consultation on 19 September via a webinar attended by 30 participants, with a broad scope covering the regions of Brittany and Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur (PACA) as well as the OFB’s networks.
This collaborative process is continuing with the organisation of bilateral consultations with beneficiaries this autumn. These discussions will enable us to gain a deeper understanding of specific needs, consolidate use cases and pilot sites, and gradually refine the alignment between the services developed and the beneficiaries’ operational expectations.
With this closely monitored and structured launch, the programme reaffirms its ambition to work alongside its beneficiaries to build services based on space-derived data that are fully tailored to the challenges of coastal management and monitoring.
